Crack repair

A crack in the foundation can be caused by several factors:

  • Expansion and shrinkage of concrete caused by a  temperature change.

  • A movement of the foundation caused by poor bearing capacity of the soil

  • Poor quality concrete.

Cracks in a concrete foundation are generally not a problem. They become so when there is water infiltration or when the crack gets wider and wider over time,  which means there is ground movement.

For their repair, we generally prioritize high-pressure polyurethane injection or an exterior excavation with the installation of a membrane.

On-site expertise is necessary to determine the type of crack as well as the repair to be prioritized.
